Tom Brady is arguably the Greatest NFL Quarter Back of all time.

His Jersey is the highest selling NFL Jersey in history, making him one of the most popular players ever.

However, he is also the most hated. He is the guy people love to hate.

He’s the most decorated football player ever, considered by most as the greatest of all time, married to a super model and a millionaire, and I guarantee less than 1% of the population can do what he does every day which is what has made this happen.

Thing is, Tom Brady inspires me. He inspires me to be a better me. To be the best me I can be.

He was the last pick of his draft, not just a last round pick.

He was the last guy picked in his draft at number 199. You always hear about the number one draft pick, the Heisman trophy winner, etc…… But you never hear about who was picked last.

In Brady’s year, that’s sure changed. 6 other quarterbacks were picked ahead of him.

Chad Pennington, Giovanni Carmazzi, Tee Martin, Chris Redmen, Marc Bulger and Spergon Wynn. They have combined to throw a career 44,470 Yards and 266 touchdowns.

Brady himself so far has 58,028 yard and 428 Touchdowns. Not to mention 4 super bowl wins in 6 appearances to go along with 3 Super Bowl MVP awards. He is the most decorated player in history. But that is not why he inspires me.

Because he was the last guy picked in his draft and what he has done since that does.

When most people in the football industry compare Quarter backs, they always talk about what they have done in the playoffs. As if the regular season doesn’t matter. So, here are Tom’s playoff records;

  • Most games played: 33
  • Most games started by a quarterback: 33
  • Most games won by a starting quarterback: 24
  • Most consecutive wins, playoffs, by a starting quarterback: 10 (2001, 2003-2005)
  • Most consecutive wins to start a career, post-season, by a starting quarterback: 10 (2001, 2003-2005)
  • Most career home wins, post-season, by a starting quarterback: 15 (2001-2016)
  • Most consecutive home wins, post-season, by a starting quarterback: 8 (2001-2007), tied with Jim Kelly
  • Most touchdown passes: 61
  • Most passing yards: 8,628
  • Most passes completed: 683
  • Most passes attempted: 1,085
  • Most division titles won by a starting quarterback: 14
  • Most NFL conference championship appearances by a starting quarterback: 11
  • Most NFL conference championships wins by a starting quarterback: 7
  • Most career 300+ passing yard games, post-season: 10

Some Quarter backs have always been great and everyone knew it and they were given every opportunity to succeed at every level.

Peyton Manning was pretty much given the keys to the city in his high School town, college town and the city he was drafted too, Indianapolis.

Always the number one quarterback without question, received all the first player practice game reps, treated like gold and always was the number one starting quarterback.

Most quarterbacks receive this type of treatment from the time they’re 12 years old.

Not Brady, he had to fight for every opportunity he got. In high school he wasn’t the starter.

In college, he was the 7th on the depth chart. After two years he had worked his way to the number one and led his team to a Citrus Bowl.

After being drafted last in his year by the New England Patriots, he managed to work his way up to the number two QB behind hall of famer Drew Bledsoe. When Drew got hurt, Tom got his chance, and never looked back.

Not only is he the winningest quarterback of all time, he’s the winningest player of all time, playing in the most important position. He leads the NFL in almost every statistical category, there is and is continuing to get better.

So, how has he done this? How does he continue to do this?

Tom goes to bed at 8:30 and gets up at 5:30 every day. Works out, eats a meticulous restrictive diet, watches game film and practices every Day. Every day. Who does that? Who can? Tom can!

That is why he is the GOAT. He has sacrificed what 99.9% of the world population cannot.  He Never ever eats pizza of fried foods. He doesn’t eat Sugar, Flour, Olive Oil, Iodized salt, tomatoes, mushrooms, peppers, eggplant caffeine or any dairy products.

He knows these foods make it hard for his body to recover from his tireless workouts and hinder him from being the best he can.

At 39 years old, he is arguably the best shape of his life. He is Stronger than ever. He was runner up for the MVP of the league this year, at age 39! And playing at the highest level of his career.

His dedication to routine, diet, training and homework are what make him the best. I know that if I can even do half of what he does I can be so much more successful in my life. I look up to him as someone to emulate.

What’s funny is most people hate Tom Brady because of the same reasons I admire him.

They see in him what they cannot be themselves.  He has never been the fastest Guy out there. Nor the strongest, most agile or most athletic on the field.

As a matter of fact, he is one of the least athletically gifted players out there He is the proof that you don’t have to be gifted at birth to get to the level of success he has.

What makes Tom Brady great is his work ethic. Hard work and dedication do pay off. It’s true, “Early to bed, Early to rise make a man healthy wealthy and wise”.
